About Me

Shwmae! I'm currently pursuing a degree in International Relations in the beautiful Welsh coastal town of Aberystwyth as a mature student, having started my undergrad a bit later than most. 25, he/him, biromantic & ace. Slowly recovering from years of severe OCD.

I have a strong interest in languages, travel and anime/manga/visual novels, as well as railways. I've studied several languages: Welsh, Russian and Ukrainian, all of which I can speak to reasonably conversational levels. I've also played around with Polish and would like to lock into properly learning it in the future.

The parts of the world I find most interesting are Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. I have travelled extensively in these regions and intend to write a dissertation about Islamist movements in the post-Soviet states.

Aside from Japanese media, I really like Doctor Who and its spinoffs. My favourite Doctor is Jon Pertwee and some serials I particularly like include Inferno and The Mind of Evil. As for New Who, Heaven Sent is up there as is the entire third season of Torchwood.

Favourite Video Games: Persona/SMT series, Trails series, FFXIV
Favourite Music: I love KINO and Vocaloid/UTAU/etc. Therefore, I'm currently obsessed with this Kasane Teto cover of Gruppa Krovi.
